The greatest sympathy prevails for Mr A. Lambn in the sad loss of hiinfant son. From birth the child was delicate. Mr Lambie has had sor? trials lately, only a month or two back having lost hi? wife The little one was laid to rest on Tuesday, Mr Goldthorpe conducting the burial service in the Skippers cemetery. Delightful weather prevailed for the holidays. The sports gathering was held on Doxing Day. The sports were an unqualified success, and much credit is due all those taking part in the management. The attendance was good and the numerous patrons were

intensely interested in the various events. The following gentlemen dc servo much credit for their untiring efforts: Messrs D. Ward, secretary, P. Lynch. H. J. H. Lewis, and J. Fly tin. Mr and Mrs Flynn, of the Otago Hotel, wera kindness itself to the competitors and patrons. Results:

Several events were got up for the children during the day.

All the claims are beiLg worked and a good run is expected ere the winter frosts set in.
