ARROW BRASS BAND.

The annual meeting of the Arrow Brass Baud was held in the Press office on Thursday evening lass. There was a good attendance of bandsmen and citizens. The president, Mr P. M. Tobin, occupied the chair.

The balance sheet showed a credit of £l2 odd. The finances were considered very satisfactory, as the Band started the year with a debit balance of £l2. Mr E. O’Neill was unanimously elected president, and Dr Thomson, Messrs Baird, Paterson, Gifford, Connor, do la Porrelle, H. McKibbin, G. H. Romans. S, McSkimmiug, G. E. Robins, A- Jopp. J. Smart, A. Goodley, R. J Cotter, W. Reid, II G. Youngman, J. I. Melville, L. E. Adams, 11. Pittaway. 0 Eckhardt, and G. Ross

vice-presidents. Mr R. McDowall was elected secretary and treasurer. Band Committee —Messrs O’Neill, G. Campbell, P. M. Tobin, E. Jones, T. Reid, S. George, and R. Mitcherlicb

Hearty votes of thanks were accorded the following gentlemen : Mr R, McDowall for acting as honorary conductor, the retiring president, and Me W. J. Campbell, tlie retiring secretary. It was decided to invite applications for the position of bandmaster at a salary of £lO per annum. The president and secretary were appointed a sub committee to invite support from the business people and outside public. This concluded the business.
