Fruit and Produce Report.

The market has eased as indicated by us. We quote—Guaranteed stamped Is (occasional sales Is Id per dozen), ordinary cased l ld to Is. We expect Uid io 10 ,(1 to ha the ruling prices next week. Butter. —All classes are extremely scarce. Wo quote— First quality storekeeper's pound pals (separator) lid to Is, ordinary pats 101 to lid. The demand is good Poultry—Good demand for well-conditioned biros. Cock turkeys 7d lb, hens (id, ducks (plump) 4/0 per pair, young roosters 4s, hens 3/0 per pair. We supply crates on application.

Honey. Consignments of good bright clover readily saleable at 4il per lb, l s lb pats attractively got up 3s to 3s 3d, lbs 5s to 5s (id, 2lbs 7s (id to 9s.

Cheese. Very scarce. Well matured Akaroa up to Old, loaf up to C:/d. Bacon—Medium weights ot}a per lb, quality guaranteed ; hams 7-} d. Pigs.—Excellent demand for good baconers (140 to 170’s) 4Jd to 4.U1 per lb, heavier weights at relatively lower rates, butcher's pigs (100’s to 130’s) 4UI per lb. Chaff—The demand is very quiet, and there is little margin for shipping at present in competition with Northern markets, which are lower in values. Wo quote Prime quality black oat sheaf at £4 5s per ton, white oat up to £4 2s (id, medium quality £3 15s ton. Hay.—Prime clover £4 per ton.

Straw.—We have handled fully 100 tons of wheateu this week. To-day’s value—whoaten 32/0 ton, oaten 45)- to 47/0. Pollard 115s, bran 955. Swedes 80s to 32s Od. Carrots —Better demand. 40s to 455,

Oats—Considerable business has been passing this week. We are buyers on trucks country stations—Carton’s, sparrowhills 2/5, blacks 2/5, net cash on trucks.

Fowl Wheat —Very scarce, 3/4 to 3/(5 per bushel, broken 3/3. Maize—3/4 for prime lines.

Potatoes. —We have handled (his week nearly two thousand sacks, the bulk of them being for forward orders. All markets are, however, fully stocked at present. There is absolutely no enquiries from the North; advice from Auckland states that new potatoes are already making great headway, aud the crops are expected to be in fully a month earlier than usual. We quote—Prime carefully graded Derwents up to 70s, Up-to-dates 57/0 to 62/(5. Wo are prepared to offer full market rates on trucks in the country to those desirous of. selling. Wo advise, however, that all potatoes be put in new sacks. Vegetables of all kinds are scarce. Cauliflowers 7s to 10s per dozen. Cabbages—6s 6d per dozen. Vegetable Marrows, (is to 7s per sack. Pumpkins—4s (id to 5s (Id per sack. Apples. —Locals, good demand, choice 2id lb, medium 2£d lb, dessert sorts 7s to 8s case. Hobart apples -Choicest SPM’s l)s 6d to 10s case, medium S)s, French crabs 8s fid to Os 3d case, New York Pippins Os case. Pears—Cooking 2;} d lb, Winter Nolls 3jd to id lb, Melbourne Winter Nolis 11s to 12s case.

Bananas —We quote ripe fruit 7s per case. Island oranges - Scarce ; 12s to 13s. Mandarins—Choice Sydney 8/G per gin case.
