THE COURTS.
Warden's Court, Arrowtown. Tuesday. August 22, 1911. (Before H. A. Young, Esq., Warden.) [>. Wilcox and R Payne, water race, adj turned from last Court Withdrawn. \). R. Chalmers, water race, Gil.bston. —Granted, subject to C. Pemam's rights not being interfered with. Cardrona Dredging Company, special c)ai:n. —Adjourned. Charles Perriam, application for renewal of water race license, Gibbston. Objected to by Thomas Kinross. Mr W. Turton for applicant. Mr Turton explained that Perriam had been granted the right in 1896 for domestic and irrigation purposes. The race had been brought in by applicant, who had continuously used it since. Applicant had always been agreeable to Kinross using part of the water.
T. Kinross said his ground of objection was that if the application for renewal was granted, the water could be taken to a place where it would be of no use to objector. He admitted that Perriam had allowed water to come to him in the past. Four other settlers were dependent on that supply. The Warden said he could not uphold the objection. He had power to order that a certain amount of water b9 allowed to run down the natural course for domestic purposes, but this was not asked for in the present objection. After hearing formal evidenco by William Perriam on behalf of applicant, the Warden granted the application for 15 years.
