.«. The body of James Bell, the fiaxniill hand who was drowned in a dam at Tokonui on Sunday afternoon has been recovered. William John Douglas, aged thirty, died at Waihi Hospital as the result of the operation to recover an iron staple which Douglas had accidentally swallowed last, week while he was mending a fence. Douglas leaves a widow and a family of five. Daniel Leonard Mafchias, aged two years was accidentally drowned in a well at his parents' house, Alexandra on Saturday. Robert Marshall, who had been missing from Roxburgh for some days, was found in au old coal mine at Coal Creek. Decomposition had set in. A bit of string connected Marshall's foot | with the trigger of a pea rifle, and there were signs that a bullet had enj tared his forehead. A woman named Mary Chiles, residing in Regent road, was found dead in bed on Monday afteri noon. She had been in ill-Jioahb. for some time, but had refused to see &• i doctor, saying that she.
