LAKE COUNTY COUNCIL.
The annual statutory meeting was held yesterday with a full attendance of members. Mr William Reid was unanimously re-elected Chairman. We heartily congratulate Mr Reid on being once more appointed to the honorable position. He has a thorough grasp of County business and County finance, and has, moreover, proved himself eminently fitted for the position. Mr H. Birley was the only candidate nominated for the district's representation on the Charitable Aid .Board, and was unanimously elected. Mr W. McKibbin was appointed to act as delegare at the election of trustees for the Arrow District Hospital, and Cr Cockburn for. the election of trustees for the Wakatipu District Hospital. Cr Birley was appointed to act similarly at the election of trustees for the Southland Hospital. The full report of the meeting, which wa3 of an ordinary nature, will appear next issue.
