A levy has been made on the three clubs of the district to meet the deficiency. Tue purebred Clydesdale station, Bannerman, will travel the Tarras, Hawea, Mt. Barker, and surrounding districts this season. Full particulars appear in our advertising column. Bannerman is a beautiful light bay and of fine substance. The case is of great interest to sheep farmers, it occupied five days. Reynolds and Co.'s new advertisements in this issue respecting their well and favorably known Reston vehicles. Ma V. J. Delaney (formerly cadet in the local post office) who has filled the position of telegraphist in the Lawrence office for the past two years, is under orders to report himself at the Christehurch office. During his stay in Lawrence Mr Delaney proved himself to be a very courteous and obliging officer, and his many friends will be pleased to hear of his promotion, which is certainly well deserved. William Feasly, a young man who was married only about six months ago, was killed at Dunedin on Saturday evening by a fall from his bicycle as he was returning to business from his house in Cargill street, and in turning a corner to Filleul street, the machine is supposed to have skidded, and he was thrown heavily on his head on the footpath. He was found unconscious and died some hours later.
