Onjy fourteen entries came forward for Saturday’s sale, no really good sorts offering. Buyers were plentiful for young, staunch and reliable draughts, and had any of this description been forward, we would hare had no difficulty in effecting sales. Aged and done sorts are hard to sell, and vendors must be prepared to take a very low figure to make a deal. Hacks and harness horses are in fair demand, and we succeeded in placing a few. Spring ran and milk cart sorts are being enquired for. Skin and Hide Report. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows: Eabbitskins.—Wo submitted a fair sized catalogue at our sale held on Monday, 16th inst., to a full attendance of buyers. A large proportion of the skins coming to hand are now off season, and prices show an easier tendency. We quote : —Prims winter does 23d to 24d, second 2id to 22Jd, prime winter bucks 18d to ISJd, first winter blacks 23d to 24Ad, springs lljd to 12£ d. Sheepskins.—We submitted a medium sized catalogue at our sale held on Tuesday, 17th inst. Competition was spirited, and a clearance resulted at prices on a par with late rates.
