ARROW BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The ordinary monthly meeting was held on Tuesday evening. Present His Worship the Mayor, and Crs M'Donnell, Richardson, Adams and M'Skimming.

Tiio County Clerk, _ Queenstown, j wrote saying the Council's letter re the j Mining Reserve was received too ,late J for investigation, and was held over.— | Received. Postmaster-Genera! wrote saying the question of a telephone service between Arrowtown, Queenstown, and Cromwell was being inquired into.—Received. Several letters were read from Mr J. F. Cr Richardson suggested that tenders be called for the erection, of thy fence, j and moved to the effect. —Seconded by j Cr M'Skimming and carried. j The Mayor said the Lake County Council had received rates for the j Becreatiou Ground for some time, and were not entitled to them. The matter was bcld over in the meantime. One offer, that of P. de la Pen-elk's, for the lease of paddock near Recreation Ground at £% a year Avas received. Proposed by thu Mayor, seconded by Cr M'Skimming—That the offer stand over. An amendment by Crs M'Donncll and Richardson—Thtut the otter be accepted, was carried. Tbis concluded the business.
