The final gathering of the Band of Hopo season took place on Friday, 20th (September, and was attended by an audience which comfortably filled the school-room. After the customary hymn and prayer, the following items were enjoyed:—-Dumbell exercise by school children ; reading, Ivy Chard ; duets, Miss Kesta and Miss Jessie Cowan and Mr H. and Miss J. Cowan ; solos, Mrs Caithness, Miss Stevens, Helen Kinross, A Rasmussen, and C. Johnston; recitations, Fred Chard, Peter Resta, Masters O'Fee, Tom Cowan, Bessie Kinross, Bob Caithness, and Johnnie Caithness; a quartette by Peter, Fred, Johnnie, and Bob, and a musical duet by Miss M. Kinross and Mr Chard, who also accompanied the dumbell exercises' Votes of thanks were passed to those who had pulled so well together, and a good cup of tea and light eatables were enjoyed by all and. sundry. A final hymn and the pronouncement of the benediction closed a thoroughly pleasant evening and terminated a series of sociable and profitable gatherings most gratifying to all the workers. * D
