A NEGRO DESPERADO.
Harris, a negro desperado, killed five men ftnd wounded a dozen at Ashville, North Carolina, and escaped to the woods. He was followed by bloodhounds, but refused to surrender. After firing all his cartridges ho folded bis arms and awaited a volley from his pursuers, which killed him.
