LAWN TENNIS.

Arrow v. Queenstown. This match was played on the now court at the Arrow Kecreatiou G round, on the King’s Birthday. The visit of the Queenstown team converted what might otherwise have been a dull and uninteresting public holiday, into a day that was productive of great enjoyment to the players and to a large section of the public. Beautiful weather prevailed and fourteen sets were played, play commencing at 11 a.m. and going on until 7 p.m. To the great disappointment of both sides, Mr Bevin was unable to come with the Queenstown team. Mr Bevin was the founder of the present Arrow Club, and, we are sure, would have rejoiced to see the keen interest shown in the game by the players and the public. It goes without saying that Mr Bevin’s absence from the Queenstown side made a considerable difference in the result of the match, which was won by Arrow by 74 games to 57. Detailed scores:— Abbow.
