A bookseller tells the following amusing story of a converastion he held recently'with a well-to-do, but illiterate, client. •1 must have some books," the latter remarked, and went on to explain that he had found an empty library in a house which he had purchased in Kensington. His only condition was that the volumes should be handsome. The bookseller suggested that half should be bound in Russia and half in Morocco. "What, on earth's to hinder you from having the lot bound in London ?" was the unexpected response.
