WAKATIPU LICENSING COMMITTEE.

The quarterly meeting was held in the Courthouse, Queenstown, on Tuesday last. Present - the Chairman (Mr F. J. Burgess) Dr Douglas, and Messrs P. de la Perrelle and J. L. Scott. A. Schieb's adjourned application (or a license for the Queensberry,

Hotel, was further dealt with. Mr R. H. Turtoa said the necessary improvements had been made to the building as asked for by tho police. The Committee, after considering the facts, decided to grant tho application this year. The application for a renewal next year would bo refused, however, if full repairs were not made to the satisfaction of the Committee. from Mrs Sohvood to W. Young in respect to the Kingston Hotel was granted. A. Thompson, Macetown Hotel, applied for two month's leave of absence and asked permission to allow his wife to oonduct tho business during his absence. —Granted.

A temporary transfer was granted from James Hymers, of the Elbow Hotel, Lumsden, to John McPherson. Mr R. H. Turton appeared for the various applicants.
