SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTIONS.

Arrow. The annual meeting of householders was held on Monday evening last. Tho following wore appointed tho Committee : —Dr Thomson, Rev. D. Keay Fisher, and Messrs Perrelle, Jenkins, Romans, Paton and Chalmers. Dr Thomson was elected chairman and Mr J. K. Paton, secretary and treasurer. The annual report referred to the satisfactory work done during tho year ; to the resignation of Mias McDonnell, as mistress of the school, which was accepted with regret; to the successful concert held during the year the finances benefiting to tho extent of £l2 ; to tho general repairs to tho school ; to the enjoyable picnic held at Mr P. Butel’s place ; to the proposal to raise tho status of the school to that of a district high school, and special thanks wore due Dr Thomson Mr P. de la Perrelle for their efforts in tho matter ; to the satisfactory attendance during the year ; to tho proficient teaching staff, and the winning of a Board scholarship by Master Bertie Patou ; and to tho distribution of prizes at Christmas time. A vote of thanks was also accorded tho Rev. D. Keay Fisher for tho interest ho had taken in school matters, and for his services as chairman. A voce of thanks was also accorded Mr A. A. Mackay for carrying out tho duties of secretary so painstakingly. It was decided to meet tho fourth Thursday in each mouth. Messrs Jenkins and Chalmers were appointed visiting committee for the month. Skippers. The following committee wero elected : Messrs A. Lambie, W. McPherson, W. Johnston, R. Stevenson, and J. Stephenson. Mr J. Stephenson was re-elected Chairman and Treasurer, and Mr R. Stevenson was re-elected Secretary. Lower Sliotover. The householders did not meet, consequently no election took place, Mr Wicks (chairman of last committee) kindly supplies the following particulars of tho school's financial position. Cash in hand at begining of year £l4 2s 7d, from Board £l2 15s 2d, rental of school for election £l, concert and ball £9 3s fid, sale of books £1 15s 2d r expenditure L 32 10s fid, cash in hand 11s 8d ; in Bank Lll 14 3 3d. Crown Terrace, Tho new committee elected on Monday, the 23rd inst., for the Crown Terrace school are :—William MTvibbin (chairman and treasurer), John Jenkins (secretary), David Brodia, Alfred Miller, and James Stevenson. Tho now committee enter noon their duties with a credit balance at tho Bank of New Zealand, Arrowtowu of L 4 13s sd.
