The Waiter's Advice to Jerome K. Jerome.
Mr. Jerome K. Jerome on one occasion when about to give a dinner to several friends, discussed the mailer of the wine with the head waiter a kind, fatherly old man, before the guests arrived. “Well,” said the old man, “if you take my advice, you will give them a good champagne to begin with—lets say l»eutz and (! el derma n < IWS* I), and let that go round twice. After that, sir—well, here's a very good wine that J always recommend at five shillings a bottle; and then sir, if I were you, I would finish up with this!” and he pointed to a modest little brand at three shillings and sixpence. “Hut, don’t yon think,” said Air.
