on the subject, and when a reply came the matter would be considered. Mr John Roberts said he had seen cattle feeding a few minutes after their hor?is had been removed, and he had seen cattle shockingly injured by other animals horning them. Mr Justice Williams said thty should be exceed-

Ii a man was going to have an operation performed he underwent suffering beforehand and aft»r it was performed. Tho thonght of if. was suffering. Mr Roberts had said that
j cattle could be se.m "razing a few ; minutes after being dehorned ; with a human being it would be quite different. What was really cruelty to a human being was not necessarily cruelty tc a an animal. They must, however, take care animals suffered no unnecessary pain.
