NEW TREATMENT OF CONSUME TION.

_—_ The King, as a patron of tin* Lon don hospitals, has received from Dt Salivas, a prominent French physician who was a delegate at the Tuberculosis Congress, details of a system of treating consumption called the Francisque Crotte method, which is stated to have been remarkably successful in France, Germany, and the LTiited States. 1* is described as consisting of a special process for the conveyance and transfusion of medicalments and metals through the pores of the skin to the root of the disease by static electricity at mean or high tension. Without danger to the patient, there can be passed into the system the most powerful antiseptics, and the metals indispensable to a good organic assimilation such as iron and manganese. Dr Salivas reports that the cases so treated in France in the last live years included 2000 received from the assistant Pub liquo of Paris. A hundred per cent, of cures were obtained in consumption cases of the first degree, 7u per cent in the second, and 30 per cent, in the third. A clinical hospital is now being established in Paris for treatment of this plan. Model sanatoria are also being fitted up, where the air of the wards will be filtered night and day, rendered aseptic and saturated with pure ozone. The Fransisque Orotte system is declared to be elficacous not only for tuberculosis but also for all other affections of microbial origin.
