BURNSIDE. Fat Cattle.— 147 head yarded, fair to good quality beef. The supply was quite equal to the demand, ami prices ruled on a par with last week. Best bullocks £9 10s to £lO 10s ; extra heavy up to £l2 10s; medium, £8 10s to £9 5s ; light weights ,£7 to £7 15s; best heifers, £8 10a; medium, £G 10s to £7 7s 6d ; light weights. £4 15s to £5 ss. Fat Sheep.—2,o29 penned, including some prime heavy-weight crossbred wethers. Freezers were not numerous and prices barely equal to last week’s. Extra prime crossbred wethers, 18s to 20s; ordinary, 14s to IGs Cd ; inferior, lls to 12s Gd ; hoggets, 14s to IGs; merino wethers, 10a to 11s 9d. CHRISTCHURCH. Fat Cattle.—Only 109 head yarded, mostly good steers and cows. Heifers were in short supply, and the scarcity caused improved prices’ Prime beef ruled from 24s to 2Gs, and in some cases more, while other sorts ranged from 21s to 23s Gd per 1001b. Heavy wethers sold at from 22s to 23s Gd ; good freezers, ISs to 21s Gd ; lighter 17s to 18s ; best ewes IGs to 19s Gd; others, 13s to 15s; merino wethers, I4s to 15s lid. Store Sheep.—l,67s penned, mostly wethers and hoggets, which were in demand. Wethers sold at from 16s lOd to 17s lOd ; best hoggets to 15s 4d ; others, 10s to 13s lOd ; breeding ewes, 14s Gd. GORE. There was a very small entry at the sale on Tuesday, only 980 sheep being penned. Prices were good, and farmers seemed anxious to buy. Fat wethers brought 16s to 16s Gd ; soundmouthed ewes, 12s to 15s 5d ; hoggets, 8s to 1 Is 10d, Cattle.—B3 head yarded, mo-tlv young. Fat cows brought up to £6 ; two-year-old steers, £4 6s to £4 15s ; two-year-old heifers, £3 5s to £3 10s ; yearlings, £2 6s to £2 15s ; calves, up to £2 2s ; milk cows, £3 10s to £G.
