TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, — My attention has been called by a creditor in • the estate of the late D. Dickinson to the fact that he received the “ large’’ sum of (Is odd in the £ for his claim. He tells me lie understood, and from what I can learn there are many more under the same impression, that the estate would pay considerably more than £ for £. Although I mu personally not interested in the matter, I think it my duty to : give the matter publicity with your nermission. What I do know is this, Mr Editor, from the outset there appeared to be a muddle. Tim hotel was put.up for sale in the first instance with a reserve of L4OO. Why this reserve ? There were buyers at a reasonable price. The result was at the sale no buyer would give' the amount fixed. A private sale was afterwards effected, and I do not know of a single creditor, except those interested, who was informed what the amount of the purchase money was. Needless to say creditors are anxious to know where all the “ extras” came in—for extras there must have been incalculable. Perhaps the local agent of the Public Trustee will supply the necessary information for the edification of the creditors and the benefit of his office.—l am, eta., Disivteresteh.
