NEW ATLANTIC LINERS.
LONDON, August 15. A Bill authorising the construction of a pier at Berehaven (Ireland) for the purpose of accommodating steamers traversing the Atlantic in four and a-half days was read a. second time in (he House of Lords after passing'the House of Commons. Tho Bill has created a commotion at Liverpool, where the step is regarded as foreshadowing the use of turbine steamers built by foreigners, although it was stated in the House of Lords that the vessels were building in Britain.
