BURNSIDE. Fat Cattle. —l9O head yarded, the majority being medium to good, and prices wore about the same as list week’s. Best bullocks, £9 to £lO 10s ; extra, £ll 2-. Gd ; medium to good, £7 to £8 15s; best cows and heifers, £G 10s to £7 15s ; good, £5 10s to £G 7s GJ ; medium, £4 10s to £5 5 Fat sleep.—2923 penned. Fat Cattle.—99 head yarded, and met with brisk competition. Prime bullocks brought from £8 15s to £ll ss—the latter price for 4 bullocks from the Sc. and N.Z. Co.’s Ermedale estate ; other pens of prime quality brought £8 17s Gd, £9 2s Gd, and £9 5s ; good average quality from £7 17s Gd to £8 ss. Store Cattle.- 24 yarded. Of these 13 were good forward-conditioned bullocks, which were disposed of at £6 15, the balance (principally cows) realising £3 10s to £4 10s. Fat Sheep. —ISOO penned, some of exceptionally good quality, but the bulk average to medium quality. One pen of fat weathers realised 17s 4d ; good quality wethers, 15s Gd to IGs lOd ; really good ewes, 14s; others, down to 12s. The sale for sheep throughout was a very dragging one. Butchers generally appeared to have obtained tlie bulk of their requirements privately, so that the demand was to a great extent restricted. After the sale, however, several pens passed at auction were taken up for freezing, though a large proportion of the entry was turned out unsold. Store Sheep.—soo penned, principally wethers, the bulk of which were withdrawn, the best offers tanging from 13s to 14s Gd.
