ARROW TENNIS CLUB.

A meeting of ladies and gentlemen favorable to the formation of a local tennis club was held in the Athenenm ReadingRoom on Friday evening last. The attendance was large, the fair sex being particularly well represented. Mr J.. Bevin was voted to the chair, and explained the object of the meeting. Ho gave some useful information regarding the general working of a tennis club, and the probable cost of necessary material. On the motion of Mr Fail and Miss Edwards it was unanimously resolved to form a club to be called The Arrow Tennis Club. Mr J. Bevin was elected president, and Dr Thomson, and Messrs J: Orr and P. do la Perrelle vice-presidents. The following were elected a general committee Mrs Bevin and Misses Edwards and Devon, and Messrs Fail, Nevin. Tonkins, and Illingworth. Mr Fail was unanimously elected honorary secretary and treasurer. It was resolved that the annual subscription be fixed as follows :—Gentlemen 10s, ladies os, two of a family 7s 6d, every additional lady member 2s (Jd. It was agreed that the names of intending members be submitted to the committee for approval, the committee to have the power to admit or refuse anyproposed member admittance to the Club. A vote of thanks to the chair closed the meeting. A meeting of the Committee was held immediately afterwards. The secretary was empowered to get the ground fenced in. A committee consisting of MessrsBevin, Fail, and Perrelle was appointed, to have the ground put in order.
