FOOTBALL.
The Wellington-Otago interprovmcial match was played in Dunedin on Saturday last in beautiful weather and before a very large attendance, Wellington winning by 10 points to 9. In the first speU Otago had all the best of the play and scored a try and placed a goal from a penalty kick. Wellington played up well in the second spell and were pressing, but Otago, getting into their quarters, scored another try. The local team appeared to be content with acting on the defensive, and after fast play Wellington ■cored a try from which a goal was kicked. Jast on call of time Slattery, following up a high kick which the Otago flulll back failed to take, scored a Stry and \V ood, making no mistake with the kick, the visitors won by one point.
