The send-off to the fourth contingent was a magnificent display, and brought together the largest number of people ever seen in Dunedin, The weather was all that could be desired. It is estimated that fifty thousand people saw the procession, in which two thousand volunteers and innumerable bands took part. The speeches were brief, but of a high order.
