J'he condition of the wool this season as regards South wools was much the same as last yoar (if anything lighter), but theOtago Central and Northern clips show unmistakeable signs of the dry winter, and in many instances of the scarcity of feed. The most of the Litter are very earthly, and the hogget wool especially, tick-stained and tender. Competition foi bright, lustrous x-breds was fairly keen. while goo, I clean J-breds and merinos were well competed for, and were »11 secured for the Roslyn, M sgiel, and Oamaru mills.
