Arrow Athletic Club.

The annual gathering of the Arrow Athletic Club on Boxing Day was a huge success. There was a record attendance, and the gate money amounted to something like £25. The entries for the various events were numerous, and some capital racing and jumping was witnessed. In the trot and cycling events the finishes were very close. The Arrow Brass Band supplied excellent music, and the sweet strains enlivened the proceedings considerably. Mr J. Begbie had the publican’s and temperance booths, and appeared to do a real good biz. The committee generally are to be congratulated on the success of the sports, and it is pleasing to them to know that the Arrow Athletic Club’s annual gathering is considered by all to be one of the best on the Goldfields. It is not necessary to individualise any member of commiteee as having done good service, for all worked like Britons.
