TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —In your last, week’s Pembroke notes I uoticethatthecorrespoivleut has taken upon upon himself to comment in a ungeutlumanly manner, on my notes in the Wukatipu Miil. As regards the meaning he Inis taken oat of my words “ party spirit ” I will say noth - ing except that if tile words “ party spirit ” meet his case, let him wear the cap he puts on. I may state that 1 have no private grudge against any member of the Pembroke club, and if I had, I should certainly not be mean enough to ventilate it through the press. In this mutter, your eon espoudent evidently measures my corn by bit own bushel., however your correspondent imagines I am not manly enough to attack him personally, he has fallen into a very great error indeed as I am- perfectly willing to- meet him, when and where he pleases. As regards the attending to chio business, I will state that whatever has caused expense to the Wauuka Club, it has not been due co the Secretary of the Cardrona ulub, with whom he seems to identify the L. W. M. correspondent.—l am, etc., CoRKESrONDKN’X L. W. M.

DISEASE DEFIED.! HEALTH INSURED! CLEMENT'S TONIC HOLDS TH E RECORD. More lives saved.by Clements Tonic than by all other medicines combined. A GEN DINE ARTICLE C *M-NLA.NOS SUCCESS. CLEMEN TS TONIC IS GENUINE. CLEMENTS TONIC IS SUCCESSFUL. READ THE EVIDENCE. Mr Robert Hardie (cured,of Pains in the Back) Dunedin, N.Z., writes on Dec. 23tb, 1894:—About ten years since I met with a. severe accident and since that I have been troubled with pains in the back and kidneys and could scarcely walk. If I stepped out I would feel pain in the small of the back ; I had to walk with short and careful, steps. I tried everything I thought would ease me, but got no relief until I tried Clements Tonic. After a few doses I felt much better, and continued taking it, the result being most gratifying. I have used only ten bottles, and am not now troubled with any pain. I can also walk freely and have found Clements Tonic to be a splendid medicine.— Yours truly, Robert Hardie, Duuediu, New Zealand.
