Eight trucks loaded with dynamite exploded while being shunted at a siding in a suburb of Johannesburg, and every house within half a mile of die siding was demolished, the buildings in many eases being blown to pieces, while nearly every window in the town was smashed. So far 40 dead bodies have been found ii. the vicinity of the accident, but this cannot represent the total number of casualties, as the search has hardly been star ed.
