Of the numerous entertainments that have visited Arrowtown lately, none have been so welcome as the announcement that Professor W. A. and Madame Davis will visit us ou Wednesday and Thursday next, 19bh and 20th iuat. The many reports we have read about these talented performers all agree that they far excel the many others who have toured Now Zealand and a great treat is in store for the district by their visit. Professor Davis, wiio divides his performance into numerous classes, makes his great speciality in exhibiting the world-famed Spook’s family introduced by Mr.; Mellon in Meloonrno and Sydney as spiritualistic mediums until the Profess .r expo -ed the fraud, which resulted in his performing his exhibition for a season of 21 months continuously in Melbourne. He is likewise a thorough master of the arts of ventriloquism and escamoterie, while the successes of M tdamc Davis during her hypnotic transition has gained for her the admiration of the population in the large cities. The latest novelties arc introdueed;iuto the programme, making the whole an entertainment of great amusement suitable alike to the scientist and the sensational seeker. Good business should he accorded them during their visit here and in Queenstown on Monday and Tuesday.
