ARROW BOROUGH COUNCIL.

An ordinary meeting of above body was held on Tuesday evening last and attended by His Worship the Mayor (Mr W. Butler) and Ora John Jenkins, L. H. Preston, J. Reid, and G. H. Romans.

The Dayman’s report was read and considered satisfactory. He reported some wilful damage to street lamps.

Pritchard wrote, applying for permission to erect a verandah in front of hia business premises, known as the Monster Store. —Granted, subject to non-interference with public convenience, on Or Romans’s motion. The Clerk reported the overdraft on the general account to be £263 4s ; and on the water-works account, £49 17s—total, £313 17s; but the cemete: y account was £33 17s 6d in credit, leaving the nett amount of overdraft at £276 3s 6.1. £B7 10s, waterworks loan coupons, had been paid on Ist inst. A sura of £3O would come to hand from Government before next meeting. Or Preston drew attention to the state of Arrow Lane, and Ilia Worship said attention would be called to it.

Sundry small accounts were passed for payment.

Or Preston remarked that the cemetery fees for infants’ graves were high, and the Council agreed to look up the scale of charges.

A vote of thanks to the chair closed the meeting.
