THE SCHOOLS.
UPPER SHOTOVER. At the annual meeting of householders the following were elected the committee for the ensuing year:— Messrs R. Tripp (chairman), F. Le Suer (secretary), W. M'Pherson, D. M'Kinley, James Stevenson, O. Sims, and S. Johnston. GIBBSTON. Our correspondent, under date the April 25, writes : At the householders’ meeting tonight for the election of a school committee only the required number were nominated and declared duly elected, viz.:—Messrs David Reid, Patrick Enright, James Cosgrove, Hugh Harvey, Peter Tomanovich, Thomas Kinross, and James Leslie.
The annual balance-sheet, showing a credit balance of over £l7, was read and adopted. At a meeting of the newly-appointed committee held afterwards, Messrs Kinross and Leslie were reappointed chairman and secretary respectively. The new teacher (Mr Walsh) opened the school to-day with a very fair attendance.
