RIFLE MATCH.

ARROW V. QUEENSTOWN. The return match between the above Clubs was tired off on Monday last oa the Queenstown range, and resulted in a win. for the Arrow men by 25 paints. Firing commenced at 10 a.m. and finished at 2 p.m. At the 200 yds range Arrow writ buck wifclva lead of 13 points, Joseph Jenkiss bsing top scorer with 30 and James R -id close tip with 29. At the 300 yds - Arrow gained another 15 points, making a lead of 28 points altogether. At this r.mgi the beat score wts 23 (made by L. Gibsonand James Reid). The Queenstown mens fared slightly better at the 500 yds range,, where they gained three points on their opponent*. Here again Joseph Jenkins wastop scorer, with 24, and his score throughout the match amounted to 75, the next highest being James Reid, with 70. Forthe Arrow men the light was rather clear, and, being used to a tack ground at their own range, they ware at a slight disadvantage shooting at the Queenstown targets,, which are situated at the Lake’s «dgc. The Queenstown men have bo blame themselves for their defeat on the ground of want of practice; and no wonder the Arrow men were successful, a* they deserved to bo, teeing that they have been in steady practice all through the season. The teams wore supplied with luncheon on the ground, and,, after the match was over, wore, right royally treated at a handsome spread at Mrs M'Bride’a Family Hotel. Messrs P. Malaghan andJ. F.
