RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Before.H. A. Stratford. Esq. R.M., Monday, Dec. 22nd. An inebriate, who had been locked up since Saturday, was fined 5s for his indulgence. Extended hours during the holidays were granted to R. Bond, W. Scoles, W Welsh, and J. Costello ; and a temporary license was granted W. Scoles for use on the Arrow racecourse on 26th and 27th mst. M. Squires v. T. Lester—Claim of £5, for money lent. Judgment for amount claimed, with costs ss, to .be paid by weekly instalments of 10s. Williams and Archer v. G. Heller. An action to recover expenses incurred by plaintiffs in defending an action for damages by the present defendant. Mr Turton for plaintiffs. The case arose out of an action which was partly heard in the Resident Magistrate s. Court, Arrowtown, 'and then adjourned to Queenstown by consent of both parties.
