ARROW DISTRICT SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

Obdinary Monthly Meeting, Dec?. 15. Presenti-r-Messrs Barlow, (in the chair) Gruber, Watson, and Sand ford Xhon.^sec.) Tlie minutes of last meeting were read and confirirreti. Outward correspondence:—Letter to the teacher (Mr W, M'Hutchison), in.formrng him that the' Committee considered themselves in possession of the schoolresidence and glebe, in t>-rms of a memorandum frora the Education Board.; and to Messrs Clark. Bond, and Perrelle", info ming them that the Committee would claim all rent fi onrthe ISih ins'--Inward correspondence : —From the teacher, re broken windows in school; and from the Southland Education Hoard, informing the Coramhtee that their request for the transfer of the school-residence and glebe to them, the teacher being allowed £2O per annum in lieu thereof, was complied with. The correspondence was' approved and received. 1 he following accounts were passed for payment:—Mrs Smith (cleaning), £5? ft. Pritchlard, £i 6s; Jopp and Henderson (fuel), i 3 2s 6d; W. BoyJ (making black boaTds, &c), £5 14s 6d ; T. C\ Johnson (nightman), 15s ; J. Galland, lis; postage and stationery, ss. It was resolved to fence the school-glebe off from the residence, a"hd to call for renting the same. Mr Gruber,and the Secretary were appointed a sub-committee to get the fencing done at oiifte. It was resolved to charge the parties at present using the paddock 2s ©d peVweek until tenders are called for it. Messrs Barlow and Gruber were appointed a sub-committee- to inspect the sch'ool-buil'dings and see what repairs Were needed, so that'they might be carried out during he holidays. The" Secretary was requested to prepare a report and financial statement before next meeting of Committee, preparatory to its being presented to the public meeting on the fourth Monday in January. A vote of thanks to the chair closed the meeting.
