In November Mr Roe Vis, from the Rifleman’s Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of dedrium cuuseit by sunstroke, which took place in the lamily of Mr Ry an, hutche;-, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fiektl sufficed in the bend-of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her freui adendi.ig to any work. She removed the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December, 1877, state-: —“ Last week the eld.-.-t boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the irgnt crying with earache. The extract was applied, and the little fellow was cured and asleep in ten minutes, Mr French, of Conrack station, suffered from had earache and pains in the head. Two dr 'ps of the extract were put iu the ■ ar and some rubbed round the ear, and the pain instantly disappeared. Mr broker, at Mount Jeffcotr, was laid upfo- mar y a fortnight wiihiuflamuiatiou of the eyes, and was in great agony. The extract was used* and in a few days the inflammation disappeared. The Evening Times has reported cures of neuralgia, by the use of the extract, at Geelong. The extract, which is of a brilliant yellow gold color, and need not be confounded with the turpentine like preparation of the gum that is to be found iu the trace, has been applied, with marked beneficial effect, to severe sptains, all sorts ot wounds, cut-, scaldings ; and its chiet property namely, to check all inflamma. tion—acdouuts for the cun s referred to.
