ST. PATRICK'S SCHOOL.
On Saturday evening last a lecit was given-by MrH. A. Stratford inf Aihemeum Hall in aid. of the fund' the above school, the subject befe most interesting one, namely,'' Ajo: the World in Eight Months." ! lecture was judiciously divided iitf"' parts, tha intervals between eac \ most agreeably enlivened by, J* vocal selections.. The ladies were the Misses O'Meara, M'Swe* and Byrne (the latter being a char* accompany ist), and the gentW Messrs Mackay. "Wilkinson, and The chair was ably filled by the -Kb Mackay, who gave an excellent adit in favor of the denominational yd of education at the close of the le* The singers were in good voice, l rendered their parts with spirit a"" keeping with the excellent time f by the fair accompanyist; W rounds of applause rewarding * efforts. The entertainment clo#» 11.30, and was a thorough bu«S over 200' persons being in the I* and we should imagine a net pro* over £2O will result. Mr Stratford has been the mef aiding by his lectures our local* tutions to a verv large extent, aiw- 1 to bo hoped that he will still co# the good work.
