INDOOR BASKETBALL
Notes by Centre Line
On Wednesday evening the Queenstown Girls’ Indoor Basketball Club travelled to Cromwell and played matches against Cromwell, Tarras, and Alexandra. Through lack of match play this season, the Queenstown girls found the going hard in the first few games. There was far too much of lobbed passes and leaving the goal unguarded, which cost them a number of points. Lai Mcßride played her usual good defensive game. The following girls played splendid games: —Ces. Dagg, Pauline Edwards, Faye Bone, Ruth Dagg, Phil Downey, and Effie McLean. Congratulations to Lai Mcßride, Ruth Dagg, and Mavis Nelson, who have been selected to play for the Central Otago representative team -at Dunedin on Saturday, September 13. An indoor basketball tournament will be held at Dunedin on Saturday, September 20, and it is hoped to send down teams representing Queenstown, A dance will be held in the Royal Cafe on Saturday evening next, the 6th inst., to assist in defraying expenses of this trip.
