SKI EXPERT FOR QUEENSTOWN
Skiers who this winter propose to take their exercise at Queenstown will have the benefit of expert coaching by Mr Olaf Roclegard, of Oregon, U.S.A., whose services for the 11147 ski-ing season liave been obtained by the Mount Cook and Southern Lakes Tourist Co., Ltd. He is the first ski-ing instructor to be brought to New Zealand since the beginning of the war. Mr Kodegard. who has arrived at Auckland on bis way to Queenstown, is the chief instructor of the r l iinberline Ski School Oregon. He is prominent in the United States in ski-ing circles, having raced in first-class international events for 10 years. In 1040 he was placed in the Olympic down-hill and slalom, and during the war was with the United States ski troops, having under him such well-known experts as Fricdl Pfeifer, Toni Matt, Luggi Fosger. Herbert Schneider and Bill Klein. He is expected to arrive at Queenstown on June 1, and will give instruction on the slopes of Coronet Peak until the end of September.
