DOMAIN BOARD.

Saturday's meeting of the Domain Board Mas attended by Messrs Jas. McLood (chairman). A. Becroft, J. A. "Wilson and Jas. Band. Mr Gordon Coates, M.P, advised that tho Minister for Tourist Resorts had promised to put a sum on the Estimates for the Hot Spiings. but he did not say what amount.—Decided that the Clerk again remind tho Minister cf the sums retruhed for development of tho Springs, and a copy of letter to be sent to Mr Coates. The acceptance of Mr Nicholls' tender fur grass at the Domain at £5 by the Chairman was coniirmed. On the Chairman's recommendation it was decided to place a wire rope round tho bowling green. The iinance statement showed a debt of £58 Ms 6d ; receipts for the past fortnight were £20 9s 9d. -the application of Helensville Bowling- Club to hold their opening of the season at the Springs green on Labor Day was granted. Messrs J. (J. Simmer and E. H. Cueksey ntteiulml as a -deputation to ask tho Board to assist with tho function of O] ion ing tho groeu for tho season. It was expected that 70 or 80 bowlers and their friends would come from Auckland, and this would be a good advertisement for the Springs, as the Boaict would doubtless derive much benelit by- these visitors. Eventually it was agreed toco-oper-ate with the Club and have the opening oi: the greens with tlie Club's opening function. Mr Becroft was appointed to attend the meeting to discuss the financing of the affair, ' which it was anticipated would be raised by subscriptions.
