The detail survey and estimates of the Okukufßace have been carefully completed by E. J. Lord Esq., and he reports, that by the construction of two reservoirs, one in Bell's Creek, and the other in the Okukii Creek, that a constant supply of at leaßt fifteen Government heads of water can be .depended on-all round, which can be btoughtinto the prospectors' race below the upper dam iat.,ft cost of L 3158 19s 6d giving with the present supply of the prospectors' race, a-constant supply of twentyfive to thirty Government heads of weter, '..throughout^the year. The promoters have purchased all the rights held by the prospectors in connection with their Race, Dams, Claim,-etc., at Knmara, and thus secured a most valuable proper+y, and one that yields an immediate return to the Company, the present revenue; of the race being estimated at an average? of ,L 36 pertfeek. THe-claim itselffa of'considerable value, Bnd can either be worked by the Company or disposed of, as overtures have already been made to the promoters for the purchase of it at a satisfactory price. The Company will have a great advantage in bringing in this extra supply into the Kumara gold-field, as they are already supplying a large number of claims '...with the Prospectors' Race, which only requires the additional water supply that the Okuku Rice will give to make it one of the best paying Investments on the Coast.
