Record Entry and Prices Quite the larjzest yarding of R’ock ever he’d at Te Anga filled the pens on Tuesday las*, there being over 1000 head of cattle and 700 sheep. Buyers were present from Waikato, King Coun'ry and Taranaki, and practically the whole offer was quitted under the hammer. The very attendance of purchasers and public made bidding brisk throughout, and prices showed a distinct advance |on reejnt rates. A Kieg Country record for dairy heifers was established by Mr H. Phillips’ splendid line of Taranaki-bred heifers, which averaged £8 12s over the 70 head offered, several of them being quitted at £l3 each. The range of prices was as follows : Sieers, 3yr to 4yr, £5 18s, £5 10s, £5 6s; 2yr steers, £3 10s to £4 15s ; yearling and 18-months old steers (for which there was a large entry and keen inquiry), £2 to £3 8s ; Jersey heifers, ]|yr, £5 12s 6d, £4 5s to £1 124 Gd ; store cows, £1 5s to £2 10s ; heavy fat cows, up to £8 10s ; Hereford bulls, £lO lO.< ; S;H.
