Raglan Co-operative Dairy Company.

0 ANNUAL REPORT. There was a large attendance at the annual meeting of shareholders of the Raglan Co-opera-tive Dairy Company last Monday, Mr A. Peart (chairman of directors) presiding. The directors presented the following report of the season’s operations :

Your directors have pleasure in presenting the Sixteenth Annual Report and Balance Sheet. Most of the past season’s output has been purchased by the Imperial Government, at a fixed price, namely : 2s 6d per lb, but there has been a general increase in the cost of manufacture, and of material, so that the supplier has not benefited to the extent that the public imagine. The output for the year amounted to 92 tons, valued at £24,972 12s, this constituting a record for the Company. It is proposed to pay a bonus of sp£d, making a total payment of 2s 6d for the season up to March 31st, and 2s 2d for the remainder of the season. In addition to the amount written off for depreciation, the balance of Suspense Account amounting to £4l Os 8d has been written off for depreciation, making a total of £216 Os Bd. Business may be summarised, under the following table of averages : Number of suppliers, 90; but r terfat received, 173,591 lbs ; butter made, 205,945 lbs; over-run, 18.638 per cent. ; butter per lb of butterfat, 1.186 lbs ; average cost of manufacturing 11b of butter, 2.f98d; average cost of marketing, .549 d ; total cost of handling, all expenses included except carting, 3.347 d ; average cost of carting cream, .844 d ; average price received for the butter at factory door, 2s 5.10 d ; average price received for butter f.o.b. ocean steamer,. 2s 4d per lb ; average price paid for butterfat including cream carting 2s 6.5 d.
