WATER PIPE BURSTS
HOUSE INUNDATED WITH WATER.
To find several of her rooms inundated with water was the unenviable experience of a King Street resident, Mrs. McLean, early yesterday morning. On making investigations it was found that the heavy frost, one of the most severe experienced this winter, had caused a roof pipe in the house to burst. A considerable quantity of water ran down the walls, causing damage to the papers and light shades of several rooms and it was found necessary to lift carpets in order to dry them out.
Some of the most severe frosts experienced in the town for some years have been felt this winter and residents have been caused much inconvenience by the freezing of the pipes and consequently cutting off the water supply early in the morning.
