Until the winter the supply of milk for the schools has been coming in regularly, but since then it has been curtailed, and now it is practically limited to the smaller children, says a Dunedin paper. One class in a city school has adopted a novel idea which is proving very popular with the children themselves. This is, to eat an apple a day in place of the milk. The fund is contributed by the children themselves and a record is kept by one pupil of the payments and distributions. Apples are being bought at about six for twopence. The idea is one which might well be adopted in other schools.
