PADDYS MARKET
SUCCESSFUL W.I. FUNCTION. CENTENNIAL PARK FUNDS;. The Centennial Park funds are likely to benefit fairly considerably as the result 6f a very successful Paddy's Market arranged by the Te Kuiti Women's Institute in the Parish Hall on Wednesday evening. A very interesting programme was presented. Items were given by ] the Municipal Band; Marjorie Haines (recitation and dancing); hospital nurses' play, "Rest Cure"; "Little Brown Jug" and "We Joined the Navy" by the W.I. Entertainment Circle; Mrs. H. Dobson (songs); Master Vodanovich, violin solos; and Mrs. Vodanovich, songs with guitar. Moving pictures presented by the Mayor, Mr. H. T. Morton, were much enjoyed. Two stalls laden with produce, fruits and cakes transacted good business. The men's nail driving competition was won by Mr. W. Stewart.
Successful Afternoon.
The Centennial Park funds benefited to the extent of about £4 as a result of a very enjoyable bridge and mah jongg afternoon held in the Parish Hall yesterday afternoon. The bridge prize was won by Mrs. Seeker and the mah jongg by Mrs. C. M. Wright.
