I Snowballing has been a popular sport on Cashmere Hills, Christchurch, during the past few days, but some of those taking part in it are regarded with no favour by motorists. One youth took his station on the hillside and bombarded motor cars passing on the road below. He scored one direct hit on the windscreen of a traffic inspector's car. The inspector, who wished to point out that such sport could easily lead .to accidents, left the car to look for the culprit. The youth, seeing the uniform, disappeared behind a bush. The result was a waitinggame. It appeared to be a stalemate until the inspector gave up and resumed his journey.
