FAREWELL PRESENTATION

MR. AND MRS. C. P. OLSSON. A very pleasant afternoon was spent last Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Lee, Waitomo, when between 60 and 70 friends met to say farewell to Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Olsson, of Ratanui, Waitomo Caves, on the eve of their departure for their future home in Feilding. During the aftei-noon Mrs. Olsson was presented with two delightful posies of violets and daphne, and the afternoon passed all too quickly with music and reminiscences of the 17 happy years spent amongst thenmany friends in the district. After a delicious afternoon tea, Mr. Lee spoke of the sterling qualities of Mr. and Mrs. Olsson, of their wonderful hospitality in the district, and of the successful farming methods adopted by Mr. Olsson and his sons. He conveyed the wish from all present that they will in the near future decide to return to this district. On behalf of all those present and also a number unable to attend, Mrs. Lee then presented Mrs. Olsson with a handsome chromium-plated waffle-iron, and Mr. Olsson with an electric reading lamp. Mr. Olsson suitably replied.

Mr. Stubbs spoke in a similar strain, while Mrs. Milne and Mrs. Lee spoke on behalf of the ladies. A very pleasant afternoon ended with the singing of "The More We Are Together" and "Auld Lang Syne," concluding with three hearty cheers for the Olsson family.
