SERIOUSLY INJURED
WELL-KNOWN LOCAL RAILWAYMAN. RAILWAY JIGGERS COLLIDE. ACCIDENT AT TE KAWA. Serious injuries were sustained by Mr. A. Corlett, aged 51, married, of Te Kuiti, when his motor jigger collided with a hand-driven jigger operated by two other railway employees. The accident occurred on the Main Trunk line near Te Kawa about 8 p.m. on Saturday.
Mr. Corlett left Te Kuiti about 6 p.m. to locate a fault on the railway telephone line, and it is presumed he was returning to Te Kuiti when the collision occurred. A fractured skull is suspected.
