A decision to communicate with the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. W. E. Parry, suggesting that consideration should be given to the passing of some regulation for the incorporation of ash-trays in all motor cars, was reached at a recent meeting of the council of the N.Z. Forestry League. The meeting - reached the decision after discussing the disastrous fires which occurred last summer in native and exotic bush adjoining main highways. It was suggested that if all cars were equipped with ash-trays the danger would be mainly eliminated.
